What to feed your medium Australian Labradoodle puppy.

What applies to a standard pup also applies to a medium pup in regards to growth which is why feeding a high quality diet adapted to a puppy is essential to your pup’s proper growth and health. We will feed our medium pups a combination of raw, kibbles and canned (the can food is used only to create an appetizing “broth” before we add the other ingredients). We use Darwin’s Natural Pet Food for the raw (which comes delivered to your door frozen in convenient 1lb or 2lb bags ready to defrost and use -we use the free range organic version). We also feed Solid Gold “Hundchen Flocken Puppy (lamb). Canned food is Wellness 95% in salmon and lamb. We also try to not over-exercise our pups (I know! is such a thing possible? yes indeed) 2 to 3 regular 10 to 15mn walks and play time running around with the other dogs is fine, however we do not recommend hiking with your puppy for more than 1 to a maximum of 2 miles a week (more than this could create inflamations in the skeletal system of your pup). Also remember that pushing on your pups posterior to make him “sit” is not only bad training but very bad for the hip joints!! Going up and down flights of stairs on a daily basis is also an issue and can in the long run be harmful to your pups joints.

We have had no problems with any of our pups here using this diet and encourage you to keep taking good care of your pup once in your hand. We know it is sometimes difficult to digest all the information you will hear between, friends, breeders etc.. and we hope this is a good starting point for you!

How long should I feed a puppy food?

We recommend until your puppy is fully grown 12 to 18 months for mediums, 18 to 24 months for standards. You can then gradually switch to our recommended diet.
